Green Carafe no. 6

$50.00

This humble green glass carafe came to be a symbol of so much more as I continued painting it in different settings and styles for the Bottled Up series that was exhibited in early 2025.

The carafe was in the fridge of my childhood home and my dad would decant his cask wine into it. After he died, it became the water bottle in my own fridge. The series of work featuring this carafe gave me a way to process how it felt to love and be loved by someone who bottled up his emotions; and about how the wine was, presumably, a way to escape. Escape what…. I don’t know. It wasn’t something we talked about.

This print represents the Bottled Up collection. The original, in oils on stretched canvas, was purchased by a private collector. There are ten prints in this edition. Yours will be signed and numbered. Printed on 8” x 10” Hahnemühle hemp with a white border.
